LFW: Burberry A/W 2013

Burberry is always one of the top shows presented during London Fashion Week but this year it was number one. With exquisite designs and inspirational beauty looks, Burberry was unlike any show we could have imagined in its specially constructed tent in Kensington Gardens.

Fall 2013 Collections

The Fall Collections are well underway and we can't stop obsessing over the looks. With tons of burnt oranges, multiple looks in navy and cool creams you... you can't go wrong. Here we've put together some of our favorite Fall RTW looks thus far from four prestige designers: Jenny Packham, Elie Tahari, Victoria Beckham and DVF.

Fashion Week: Beauty Trends

This runway season the catwalks were filled with a similar trend: au naturale. Showcasing natural hair to natural makeup, almost each designer incorporated this look into their show.
DVF changed things up a bit with a dark brow. This natural makeup with a slightly darker brow is, in our opinion (again), the way to go for a natural look. It doesn't look like you tried too hard but it makes it look like you put some effort into getting ready in the morning.
Alexander Wang tried out the natural makeup but put in a twist: slick hair. This "just got out of the pool" look is perfect for summer, especially if you are going from the pool to anywhere else. Just make sure to add a pop of color to your cheeks to offset the rest of the look.
Derek Lam went for natural everything with a tiny bit of color around the eyes. Another great look for night as the pop of color turns this natural look into something a little more upscale.

Fashion Week Jewelry

Choosing an outfit during Fashion Week can be a daunting task. And so can choosing what jewelry will compliment or add to your ensemble. Whether you have a busy outfit or a simple outfit, jewelry can really make or break it. We've listed some of our favorite necklaces and earrings lately that will be the perfect for for anyone's Fashion Week outfit.

1. 1980's Unsigned Gold Collar
Collars are huge in the fashion scene this season and we love them! This gold spike collar is right on trend. Add some hardware to your outfit with this collar or something similar.
2. 1950's Diamante Earrings
If you want something ultra classy and sparkly, look no farther. These diamante earrings are not only perfectly vintage but they will add sparkle to any outfit. If you aren't into big earrings, these button studs are perfect for transitioning your Fashion Week outfit from runway to after-party.
3. Christian Dior Necklace
What to say about this  necklace... it's gorgeous, it's classy and it's different. Wear this with either a simple outfit or mix it with a patterned outfit to really mix it up. And you can be sure you won't see anyone else wearing it.
4. Robert Earrings
Bright colors are a huge trend this season and these little bad boys add the perfect touch of color without being over-the-top.
 5. Miriam Haskell Earrings
These Haskell earrings are perfect for Fashion Week. Tassels are such a big trend right now that they will add a perfect touch to an outfit. The diamante stones add a bit of elegance and are sure to have everyone looking at you.
6. 1950's Tassel Necklace
More tassels.. you really can't get away from them this season not to mention this shade of blue goes with really anything.

Fashion Week Must Haves

Fashion Week is a week filled with excitement but also can be very busy and hectic which makes it easy to miss those "essential" items while deciding what to take with you from show to show. We've put together a short but important list of the items you will definitely need to make it through the day.

1. A Big Handbag - Fashion Week is the one week you will need to get bring out your "luggage". If you already love carrying around a large handbag than you'll love this week, but if you aren't we suggest investing in one that has a handle as well as a shoulder strap.

2. A Camera - this is essential. Whether you have a large one or small one, bring it. We suggest bringing a small camera with a powerful lense like this Olympus Pen E-PI1.

3. Wet Ones - you never know if you or someone else will spill those delicious drinks all over your brand new dress.

4. Umbrella - another essential, weather can be unpredictable and you don't want to get caught in the rain without one rushing to the next show.

5. Lip Balm - Kiehl's makes an awesome lip balm in a great travel size that is easy to throw in your purse or pocket. Keep those lips lookin' good ladies!

6. Big Black Sunglasses - keeps the sun out of your eyes. Also helps you from having to make eye-contact with anyone you might not want to.

7. iPad - the new notepad. Take notes, keep your Twitter followers up-to-date.

8. iPhone + Mophie Juice Pack Plus Case - you won't be running out of battery anytime soon with this on your phone. (plus it comes in different colors)

9. Coffee - whether it be Starbucks or your local coffee shop, you might want to get one in the morning if it's going to be a long day. The last thing you want is to be caught yawning at a show or in a photo.

10. Ballerina Flats - after walking around in your sky-high heels, you'll be glad you brought these in your bag.

11. Planner/Diary - keep your week and events organized with sleek and chic one like from Smythson.

Louis In Paris

There are few things we love more than Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. This year at fashion week in Paris, he once again stunned (hopefully not for the last time). With a larger than life working carousel that serves as the backdrop for the lady-like, 50's inspired fashions for Spring/Summer of next year, this could be one of our favorite moments from Paris. Kate closed the show, looking as beautiful and angelic as ever in a white feathered baby doll dress and messy bun.

Having been inspired by all of this beauty, we took to the drawers here at HOL and picked out jewels that compliment the look and feel of the show; 50's, pastel, shimmery and fun!

Springtime Beauty

Fashion week will sadly be coming to a close tomorrow and as much as we have been inspired by all of the designs, clothing and visions each designer has for the upcoming Spring 2012 season, we cannot forget about another important factor here...The makeup!

Here are a few insider tips on how to achieve the looks that a few of our favorite designers used in their shows:

Derek Lam: Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder

The Inspiration: Clean minimalism and open desert landscape of the Kaufmann House by Richard Neutra in Palm Springs.

The Makeup: A dreamy warm look with fresh skin, shimmering eyes with muted yellow shadow highlighted by coppers and greens. Lightly bronzed, contoured cheeks and a sheer golden lip.

Victoria Beckham: Charlotte Tilbury for Lancome

The Inspiration: A handsome and sporty look to compliment the structured and modern designs.

The Makeup: Fresh glowing skin created with shading highlighting to contour the face. The look for the eyes was achieved by using Lancome Liner Design in Bronze Couture (available April 2012), mixed with Absolute Bx moisturizer and then topped with Juicy Tubes in Pure to give the glossy finish.

Chris Benz: Daniel Martin for Lancome

The Inspiration: 1960's Nightclub fixture, and friend of Andy Warhol, Candy Darling.

The Makeup: Shades of sea foam and mint shadow, defined by black gel liner for definition and thick black lashes. Bright lips to add a pop of color using Sequence of Love's lipstick in Rogue (available February 2012). Lastly, a tangerine blush applied high on the cheekbone for the finishing touch.

The Row: Tom Pecheux for Estee Lauder

The Inspiration: Soft and sophisticated. Fresh, natural and beautiful. "The way any woman would want to look when she wakes up in the morning" - Tom Pecheux

The Makeup: Skin illuminator, NEW foundation (launching 2012) and lucidity loose powder were used to achieve the soft glow of the skin. Blonde model's eyes were lined in brown and also used a brown mascara. Brunette models wore black. The lip was Pure long lasting lipstick in Beige. Lastly, the cheeks were the NEW limited edition Gelee Bronzer (launching in 2012).
Marc by Marc Jacobs: Dick Page, Shiseido Artisitc Director

The Inspiration: A minimal and sporty look inspired by Bauhaus and Charles Eames.

The Makeup: A base foundation was used to even out skin tone, then topped with Shiseido Makeup loose powder for a matte finish. A blend of Shiseido Luminizing Satin Face Color in High Beam White and Soft beam Gold were used to create the 'halo' effect around the eyes. Blush applied to the apple of the cheek is a combination of Luminizing Satin Face Color in in Petal, mixed with Soft Beam white. The eyes are a simple combination of black mascara and lip treatment to create a glossy effect on the lid. Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick in Roseate was used on the lip.
