Look Of The Week - Kelly Murray

WHO Kelly Murray, photographer mStyle Photography, Palm Beach

THE LOOK Top by Seneca Moss, jacket by H&M, jeans by Paige, shoes by Michael Kors.
THE JEWELRY Trifari black, red and god necklace ($448); assorted gold bracelets ($348-$448), House of Lavande
STYLE INSPIRATIONS Ever since I started watching Gossip Girl, I can’t stop. I'm obsessed with Blake Lively’s character Serena Van Der Woodsen’s wardrobe. Her sense of style on the show is said to be “inspired by Kate Moss” but I’m not that edgy. I love my skinny jeans, bandage dresses and I can’t live with out my boots!
FAVORITE ADORNMENTS: Oversized watches, chunky bracelets, scarves, layered necklaces, and never I leave the house with out my Ray Bans.
STYLE TIPS Add bold colored accessories to Kelly's classic neutral blouse and white jeans to create a completely different look. Turquoise and coral long layered necklaces would instantly give her look a gypset style perfect for any beachside local.

Fresh Face

The latest installment of celebrity faces representing the iconic fashion house that is Badgley Mischka is refreshing, if not a bit unexpected. Rumer Willis, the 22 year old actress and daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore will be the newest Badgley girl. Her style and presence over the last couple of years have taken a turn for the best, coming out of the shadow of her mother and defining a style all her own. She will be representing the brands Mark & James line as well, which consists of handbags, swimwear and footwear. Mark Badgley and James Mischka have said they admire her youthful, yet glamourous style, and we couldn't agree more!

History Repeating

Dating all the way back to 1892, Emanuel Ciner jewelry is one of the most popular and sought after brands of costume jewelry still today. Starting in their first location on Maiden Lane in New York City, they originally manufactured only gold and platinum using precious stones. Shortly after the 1930's the company began manufacturing costume jewelry. The same design and manufacturing detail that was used in making the fine jewelry was carried over into the costume jewelry design, setting the pieces apart from other costume designs of the time. Everything used is the finest quality, from the austrian crystal to european glass cabochons and simulated pearls that are made to the companies very specific specifications.
Emanuel Ciner ran the company until he was 94 years old, when he handed the company over to his sons, Erwin and Charles. In the late 70's Pat and David hill took over the company and manufacture and designed everything out of their Midtown Manhattan location. The Hills design, manufacture and sell new designs as well as still featuring the classic and loved designs that date back all the way to the 1930's. Ciner's jewelry is classic and not trendy, and can be worn by the stylish woman of today, and for many years to come!

The Look of the Week - Amanda Boalt

WHO Amanda Boalt, Designer, Strong Boalt, Palm Beach

THE LOOK Helmut Lang pants, 3.1 Phillip Lim trench coat, Stuart Weitzman boots
THE JEWELRY 1950’s Miriam Haskell pendant necklace with a graphic black faceted center stone surrounded by carnelian stones all set in a gold filigree pendant, House of Lavande
INSPIRATION Style icons range from Grace Kelly to Peter Beard. For her everlasting style and his extensive travel and sketching. I like to imagine my swimwear going from poolside in Monaco to post safari in Lamu, Kenya.
FAVORITE ADORNMENTS: I never take off my grandmother's large cocktail rings which I wear on my pinky fingers, and a long 1970's Van Cleef & Arpels gold chain cluttered with charms given to my mother from my father.  Other than heirlooms, I look forward to the custom pieces my friend, Caroline Kling, has designed inspired by my prints. Gold aviators and canvas totes, whether from LL Bean or Hermes, take me anywhere.
STYLE TIPS Adopt Amanda's classic with an edge style by focusing on clothing pieces and accessories that have character and tell a story. Mix & match favorite keepsakes with current pieces that are classic in silhouette and updated with trend-on fabrics, prints and embellishments. Think a classic belted shirt dress mixed with a must-have open-toe bootie and stacked mixed bracelets.

Happy New Year!

It is time to say goodbye to 2010, and hello to a fresh new year! Hello 2011! Of course with the new year, comes new goals, resolutions and all around inspiration with the thought of a new and fresh start. We have put together a list of some of our fashion, style and less serious resolutions for the new year. Maybe they will inspire you to add something new and fresh in your life in the coming year!

1. Take bigger fashion risks- Start off small...mixing metals and textures with your jewelry, or mixing prints, and textures with your clothing. Stripes with florals, muted prints with something bright, lace and polka dots...the combinations are endless. So take a risk, and freshen up that wardrobe without even having to go shopping!
House of Lavande bracelets:
Gold filled Bangle ($648), clear channel set bracelets ($648 each), Silver bangle ( $448)

2. Subscribe to International magazines- One of our favorite ideas yet. Seeing what is featured, and loved by people all over the world will give you a great new look on things that inspire the fashion icons that inspire us everyday. A local news stand will have magazines from every corner of the globe. A favorite of ours is Italian Vanity Fair.

3. New beauty- We are all always reading about the newest products that "you can't live without"  and makeup tips and tricks that "instantly change your look'' but if you are like many of us, we read and we have great intentions of taking the extra few minutes to learn these things, and then it never happens! So after this weekend, grab a few magazines make a list of what you'll need, run to Sephora and stock up on new products and learn some new techniques!

4. Travel- Make a list of the top 5 (or maybe even 10) places you want to visit in the world. Come up with goals and a plan and make it a point to visit them. It's easy to get caught up in daily life and let opportunities pass, so check the status of your passport and get moving! Like St. Augustine says "The world is a book, and those who do not travel, read only a page."

5. Food- No resolution list could possibly be complete without the mention of food. Most of us have the eat healthier, exercise more goal looming somewhere in the back of our minds. But why apply so much pressure on ourselves? Especially with all of the other fun resolutions we have to take care of! This year, keep it simple. Buy a cookbook with healthy recipes, go to more fresh markets, buy more produce and cook at home more often. Without thinking about it too much, just introduce fresher products into your life an you will instantly look and feel better! Check out Williams Sanoma's Eat Well cookbook for some freah ideas!
