2012 Emmy Awards: Fashion Recap

Julie Bowen in Monique Luhillier, Claire Danes in Lanvin, Julianne Moore in Dior Couture
Hannah Simone in Pucci, Kaley Cuoco in Angel Sanchez
Did anything catch your eye at last night's Emmy Awards? Five ladies in five stunning yellow dresses definitely marked the evening for us. From peplums, to sleeves, and many shades between them, all of these ladies effortlessly pulled off a color that is notoriously difficult to wear.

We also have a handful of favorites from the evening picked out. Old hollywood glam, courtesy of Jessica Pare and co. Chic strapless cuts that makes a statement (Tina Fey looking amazing!), and beautiful flowing boho styles that add that extra style flare to an otherwise structured evening (Kristen's length and Leslie's top knot). We love it all!

Giuliana Rancic in Ramona Keveza, Allison Williams in Oscar de la Renta, Jessica Pare in Jason Wu
Tina Fey in Vivienne Westwood, Lucy Liu in Versace, Juliana Margulies is Giambattista Valli
Kristen Wiig in Balenciaga, Leslie Mann in Naeem Khan, Sarah Hyland in Marchesa

Marni for H&M

It's here! The Marni for H&M look book came out yesterday, and it is as fantastic as we all expected. The collection is a great combination of bold colors and prints, with price points that won't kill your wallet, which is always a plus! Check it out in full here and make sure you are ready on March 8th, because as we all know these limited time collections disappear faster than you can say Missoni for Target!

Also, check out some of our favorite ladies of Hollywood sporting pieces from the collection at the launch party last Friday night:

Drew Barrymore

Frida Pinto

Jessica Chastain

Lou Dillon

Mila Jovovich

Sofia Coppola

Impact: Fifty Years of the CFDA

Tonight the museum at FIT will be hosting the opening night soiree for the CFDA's fifty year celebration.  100 garments and accessories that highlight the most influential creators from the last fifty years will be on display, as well as visual images of the over 600 designers who have been members over the last five decades. One of our favorite parts of the exhibition is that each living designer that has been asked to participate, will select a single object or ensemble that best represents his or her impact on the fashion world. We cannot wait to see what everyone has chosen to represent themselves!

Among the designers that will be on display will be CFDA president Diane Von Furstenberg, Calvin Klein, Oscar de la Renta, Pauline Tirgére, Tom Ford, Michael Kors, Rodarte, and Proenza Schouler.

Even if you can't make it to MFIT before April 12th, be sure to pick up the companion book to the exhibition, also titled Impact that will feature more than 500 photographs documenting the evolution of the CFDA, it's strong ties to the arts, and the growth of the educational programs over the years.

LoveArtDeco

On march 9th one of the most exciting fashion exhibitions to date will be opening at Les Art Decoratifs in Paris. Louis Vuitton-Marc Jacobs. Not much else needs to be said after that, but celebrating the original founder, and creative director of 15 years, is definitely something worth talking about. Fashion author  Pamela Golbin is curating the event, and she has also written the accompanying exhibition book, which will no doubt be a must have. The show runs until September 16th, so you have plenty of time to plan that trip to Paris to check it out! In the meantime, be sure and visit the Tumblr site that Louis Vuitton has started called Love Art Deco. Below the down to the second countdown they are posting pictures and videos every few days to give us all a sneak peak of what we can expect at the show!

Tommy Ton and The Fellas

Our favorite street style fashion photog is at it again, friends. This time around he has made his way to Florence to the kick off of the annual Pitti Uomo men's shows. A collection of stylish and well put together gentleman is something we all love to see. We're lucky that these days, style and attention to fashion detail aren't reserved for ladies only. If you don't believe us, just ask the New York Times. A great focus on five of the male fashion bloggers who get it, and are bringing to us with swag. Yeah we said it.
