Fashion Week: Beauty Trends

This runway season the catwalks were filled with a similar trend: au naturale. Showcasing natural hair to natural makeup, almost each designer incorporated this look into their show.
DVF changed things up a bit with a dark brow. This natural makeup with a slightly darker brow is, in our opinion (again), the way to go for a natural look. It doesn't look like you tried too hard but it makes it look like you put some effort into getting ready in the morning.
Alexander Wang tried out the natural makeup but put in a twist: slick hair. This "just got out of the pool" look is perfect for summer, especially if you are going from the pool to anywhere else. Just make sure to add a pop of color to your cheeks to offset the rest of the look.
Derek Lam went for natural everything with a tiny bit of color around the eyes. Another great look for night as the pop of color turns this natural look into something a little more upscale.

A Flare For Peplums

The new must-have trend is turning out to be this season's big silhouette story: the peplum! With fashion's gaze firmly resting on the waist this season, there's no better way to dress your midriff than with a peplum. Chic peplums add a new dimension to any wardrobe and as seen at shows from Marc by Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Jason Wu, Vera Wang and Thakoon, it comes in all shapes and sizes.

This adorable peplum top paired with shorts is a great look for daytime and nighttime.

We are loving this gorgeous feather embellished peplum dress!

This look at Paris Fashion Week is a great combination of color and we are loving the oversized peplum detail!

The ruffled detail on this skirt adds a different but fabulous spin on the traditional peplum style!

And we couldn't leave out a classic peplum shirt! Paired with a great pencil skirt and pumps for a gorgeous look.

Art Deco: A New View

The Art Deco trend is in full effect this spring, and we couldn't be more excited! Graphic prints, ladylike accents from the 20's and 30's and inspiration drawn from art and architecture alike are influencing the looks that went down the runways for Spring 2012. Incorporate the look into your wardrobe for a fun twist on your usual look!

Transparent Love

Lucite, that fantastic plastic from the 1950s, is clearly a fresh addition to your spring 2012 style. At the spring 2012 runway shows, big design houses, like Prada and Fendi, chose to perpetuate the Lucite legacy of glamour and elegance. With lots of heels, accessories, home decor and even nail polish influenced by lucite, we love it all this season! We've pulled together a few fabulous lucite looks that are currently inspiring us.

{Obsessing over these ankle boots with a lucite heel!}

{Add a lucite chair to a tradition style room for an unexpected twist}

{These ombre lucite heels are a little less obvious if you aren't ready to jump into a full lucite heel}

{These completely lucite heels look great with a tailored, classic outfit}

{Lucite trays are an awesome way to showcase your jewelry or anything for that matter!}

{Love how this entry table looks so perfect in this room}

{Obsessing over this Charlotte Olympia lucite and feather clutch, great for day and night}

{For a different take on lucite, models at the Joy Cioci show were sporting these nails}
