The House of Chanel was founded in 1909 by Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, known to most as Coco. Setting trends, before there were trends to set- Coco's designs catered to the elegant and stylish woman of the 1920's. Creating suits, pants, jackets and jewelry that were much simpler and far less over the top than the standard style of the time. Chanel is still the iconic house of fashion that it was in the beginning, setting standards for elite luxury.
