Simple Salad Quinoa Style

We are always on the lookout for quick, easy and healthy food ideas, and we have come across another one to share! A quinoa salad that can be served hot or cold! Quinoa is getting a lot of attention lately which is great because it is so good, and so good for you! Follow this recipe, or substitute with no meat since quinoa is high in protein. Add veggies, or anything you have in the fridge really, and you will have a great meal or quick snack that will work heated up or chilled! Tweet

Last night was another eventful VMA performance on Mtv! We we floored by Adele, found out Beyonce is pregnant, and Gaga performed as her alter ego, Joe. Those being some of our favorite moments, we can't forget of course, or favorite fashions!

Meatless Monday

Yes, it's Tuesday, but yesterday was another wonderful Meatless Monday! The last few weeks of summer are upon us (although here in South Florida it feels like it will never end) so we decided to grill. We brought out loads of delicious veggies, and followed another Giada recipe.  If you haven't read up on meatless Monday's you should click the link above and give it a look. It's a great way to switch things up, it's also great for the environment, and for your body, which is always a plus!

Throw in some sliced bread, hummus, cheese and olives to the spread with a crisp white wine and you've got yourself a great meal for a summer night!

Inspiring Beauty

She's just 19 years old... one year younger than the decade that inadvertently defines her. The daughter of the one and only Kurt Cobain and the larger than life Courtney Love, is Frances Bean Cobain. She remains off the radar, and for that reason when she modeled (for the second time ever) for photographer Rocky Schenck and these beautiful images were produced, we had a moment. The look in her eyes, the vintage glam look of the tortured beauty, seriously wonderful!

Catalog Bliss

Huge news from Google today! They have just launched an app, available today called Google Catalogs. Download it to your Ipad and get rid of the unnecessary paper delivered to your house! So far there are over 50 different catalogs you can subscribe to, with seven different areas of content. Women's Fashion and Apparel, Men's Fashion and Apparel, Jewelry, Beauty, Kid/Toddler/Baby, Home, and Gifts. There is sure to be something for everyone and very soon Google is hoping to land the big daddy of all catalogs- J.Crew. We can only hope this happens sooner rather than later!

Our Favorite feature though, is the fact that you can tag products that you like and create inspiration collages! So perfect for playing and planning your clothing and accessories for your next big event or even just simple night out. Needless to say, we cannot wait to get this app!

What's For Dinner

It's Tuesday, a great night for that last evening of catch up before mid week. Kick back with a simple dinner, a glass of wine and good book. Tonight we are cooking up an Italian flat bead courtesy of one of our favorites Giada De Laurentiis. You can check out the recipe here.
*P.S. we opt for a store-bought dough instead of homemade, in keeping with the relaxing tone of the evening*

Pair with a delicious red wine, we love a 2007 Cakebread Cabernet Sauvignon. Enjoy!

Weekend Getaway

In honor of our mini vaca this weekend we are sharing with you our essentials for dressing, relaxing and sipping a few cocktails during a weekend away at the beach... ahhh sunshine!

Look One: Day at the beach. Keeping it simple with a caftan, flats and a big straw hat to keep those rays off of your gorgeous face! Don't forget your jewels either. Yes at the beach. Stacked bangles and a simple pendant bring it all together. 

What we are reading: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. An absolute must. 

Daytime cocktail: Mojitos. Yummy, yummy mojitos!

Look Two: Night out

On September 14th, get ready to run-not walk, to everyone's favorite cheap and chic one stop shop. This is the day that the Missoni for Target line will be available in stores, and as we have all seen before, these affordable, stylish and limited items fly out of the stores FAST. Here are a few of the pieces we are dying to get our paws on!

Scarves- One of each please. Ted around your head, or your purse, or hanging over a lampshade at home, these are perfect.

Chevron Shorts- With a chic silk tank, or an oversize sweater come fall, these will carry you through that sometimes awkward summer/fall transition with ease.
