Spy Life - Savannah Buffett

We are loving the new online Spy Life travel series being featured on {elle.com}. This month they highlight Savannah Buffett and her top picks of all things must-know about Miami. Her laid-back style exudes casual chic and her must-try Miami spy life list taps into some of the city's coolist hot spots. Complete with recommended Before You Jet playlist. Here are a few of our fave spots from her list, to see her complete itinerary check it out on {elle.com}.

EAT
Redlight (7700 Biscayne Blvd,
redlightmiami.com)
“Hands down the coolest and most delicious restaurant in Miami. Go for the outdoor seating right on the Miami river and the
meanest lobster grilled cheese ever!”

DRINK
Jazid (1342 Washington Avenue, jazid.net)
“When I do feel like dancing I skip the large nightclubs and head here. They have live music every night from bands like Xperimento and Suenalo. If I ever have friends in town who are looking for an authentic Miami experience and want to shake it on the dance floor this is where I’ll take them.”

LISTEN - BEST LOCAL BAND
The Big Bounce (bigbouncemusic.com) “In a city not generally known for its musical offerings, these guys are really changing the game. Brendan O’Hara and Komakazie are the dynamic musical duo known as The Big Bounce. Call it street lounge, hip drop, or any old thing you want. You can catch them rocking the Florida Room at the Delano every Tuesday from 10pm – 12pm.”

Lets be honest, we all have a certain affection for any pair of red soled shoes. Whether they are sky-high or flat and fancy, there is only one gentlemen who truly understands a woman's love affair with adornments as special as these. Mr. Louboutin can never do wrong, ever, and its just that plan and simple!
In this exclusive film, 'Dancer in a Daydream', Christian Louboutin dons his jazz shoes for FASHIONAIR, with choreography by Arthur Gourounlian and music by Joe Stilgoe. For all you red-soled lovers, this is one film not too be missed.

The Kind Diet

With all the yo-yo diets floating around out there it's hard to get excited when another new plan takes trend. Yet we must admit that we are intrigued by Alicia Silverstone's new book, The Kind Diet, A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet. Actress, activist, and committed conservationist, Silverstone shares the insights that encouraged her to swear off meat and dairy forever, and outlines the spectacular benefits of adopting a plant-based diet, from effortless weight loss to clear skin, off-the-chart energy, and smooth digestion. The Kind Diet encompasses 3 separate levels, from Flirting to Superhero depending on how far you might be willing to actually change your diet. We've always been one that likes a good flirt, so that seems like a relatively good place for us to start.

Stylesetter - Kelly Wearstler

After getting inspired by Lonnymag and their featured interior design trendsetters, we thought that we would start sharing with you some of our own favorite stylesetters. These chic stylista's aren't afraid to make a statement yet are always apropos and au courant in their own personal ways. We couldn't think of a better person who exemplifies this best then interior design star Kelly Wearstler. Known for her bold interiors and risky fashion choices, we think that she sets the tone for what a modern woman can achieve, being successful and a mother all while looking chic day-in and day-out, and staying true to her own personal style. Here are some of our favorite Kelly moments.

Who's Lonny?

For all you past devoted fans of the much missed Domino shelter magazine, there's a new game in town, or the web that is, and her name is Lonny. We love this newly created online magazine that follows a very similar format to the much adored and missed Domino, featuring interior design trends and highlighting stylish abodes with their equally stylish owners. And we especially love this month's current online issue which features trendsetter Kelly Wearstler and her recent revamp of LA's Avalon Hotel, as well as Ryan Korban, preferred interior designer to the young NY downtown chic social set. At just 25, Korban's love of the Elizabethan era mixed with a modern sensibility gives this young designer a very chic edge. We can imagine some of our very own HOL vintage jewelry pieces looking quite chic on an Edwardian vanity in one of Korban's interiors. To learn more about Korban and other stylish trendsetters, check out the latest issue of Lonny, and be sure to add it to your favorites. {lonnymag.com}

We love his design tip on paint colors: {Use worn shades of paint color that look aged or stained, like one of his favorite colors, Elephant's Breath by Farrow and Ball}

Celeb Sighting

We're already big fans of InStyle, but now we're loving them even more! And Ali Larter too, looking fabulous during Oscar week wearing a House of Lavande necklace.

This look also happens to be oh so St. Patrick's Day perfect, so be sure to check back in tomorrow for our ode to all things gorgeously green.

Ode to McQueen

Alexander McQueen's last collection was presented this week during the Paris collections. 80% complete upon his recent untimely death, his inspirations were clearly well represented throughout the final 16 piece fall/winter collection. Calling upon medieval Madonnas and Byzantine empresses, the collection gave way to a romantic tone featuring the exquisite tailoring McQueen was so well-known for. A true poetic final adieu.
Here are a few looks of the final 16 piece collection.

Post Oscar Trends

Post Oscar time is all about dishing on the most fashionable red carpet looks, who got it way right and who got it all wrong! We're sure you have your best dressed list just as we do, however we thought it'd be much more fun to feature a few key trends we spotted being showcased on the red carpet. Whether your award show worthy or just looking for a way to jazz up your current ensembles, here are a few ideas to help get you looking camera ready.

Statement Wrists
In the past its been all about the neckline and ears being adorned with major statement pieces. This year it was sans neck and major wrist. Huge cuffs and stacked bracelets were by far the biggest statement in all things jeweled.

Amanda Seyfried in Armani Privé

Sarah Jessica Parker in Chanel Haute Couture

Julianne Moore in Calvin Klein Collection

Unexpected Print
Amongst all the blush, pinks, purples and blues, it was refreshing to see a small dose of print. Whether its done pretty in pastels or in bold graphics, keep it fresh and modern by opting for pops of print featuring painterly-like brush strokes.

Rachel McAdams in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Maggie Gyllenhaal in Dries Van Noten

Bright Lip
Within a season ruled by neutral color palettes for the face, we were happy to see a few bright lips make an appearance. Switching up your lip color can be one of the easiest ways to freshen up your look. This spring try one of the newer bright pink hues which works perfect for many skin tones and coloring. It also happens to look quite chic with many of springs new naturals and metallics.

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

This Just In...

We are swooning over the new color blocking treatments and layers of rich textures that Nicolas Ghesquière just presented in the Fall 2010 collection for Balenciaga. The bright bursts of color is very reminiscent of what was showcased for prefall, which means we'll get added months of usage on this new look!
