J'Adore Kate
We adore Kate Schelter and are so excited to see her featured by Vanity Fair. She represents the epitome of girl on-the-go always with class and style, quite de rigueur for House of Lavande. To see more of the fabulous Kate check out her website @ kateschelter.com
who: Kate Schelter. what: Fashion stylist, consultant, and brand builder. where: Photographed at her apartment in Gramercy Park. why: Schelter, whose career path led her from trend reporting, to reporting for Vogue and style.com, to art directing, to styling, to consulting, to brand building, is a regular on the fashion scene. Today she works with brands such as American Express, Zac Posen, and House of Lavande, and she was the founding creative director of Closet Couture. Our guess? You’ll probably spot the always put-together blonde all over street-style blogs during New York Fashion Week. wearing: Her own Yves Saint Laurent trench coat, an Hermés gold bangle, a Tiffany & Co. bracelet, and a silver bracelet from the Musée du Louvre. NYFW Spring 2011
And we're off... The official start to Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 Collections kicks off today. Don't fret if your not lucky enough to sit front row at the runway shows being staged this year at Lincoln Center, we have the web these days after all. And lucky enough, this season its all about live webcasts. So if your show invites happened to have gotten lost in the mail, or you just prefer to catch what the latest fashionable trends for spring will be in the comfort of your home wearing pajamas, your in luck. Jot down this list of live-streaming runway shows being offered this week to any and everyone for free.
•Firstcomesfashion.com, a new player in the world of fashion show live-streaming is offering up a pretty hefty viewing schedule with the likes of Prabal Gurung (Sept 11th at 1pm), Oscar de la Renta (Sept 16th at 5pm) and Narciso Rodriguez (Sept 14th 8pm).
•Industry fave style.com plans to live-stream 3.1 Phillip Lim (Sept 15th at 2pm) and Proenza Schouler (Sept 15th 8pm).
•Known for being the toughest show to get into, be sure not to miss this one... Catch the Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 runway show via marcjacobs.com (Sept 13th at 8pm).
•And if you happen to be in NY this Saturday, head downtown where Alexander Wang will project his show live (Sept 11th at 5pm) onto buildings at 5 sites in lower Manhattan. We're guessing at least 1 viewing will be in the LES. Tweet

Mood Board: Lady Luxe
Lady-like looks are making a major impact this fall, and one of the easiest ways to achieve this look is by the accent of a statement pearl piece. Whether you have a pearl adornment that's classic or reworked with edge, you can wear by day or night. We were inspired by the Marc Jacobs fall collection which was full of lady luxe looks perfect for the fall season; soft romantic shades, plush fabrics, simplicity done to perfection, even the models walking down the runway as Somewhere Over The Rainbow played above. Pair up with nude or blush colored heels and the must-have lady-like top handle or shoulder handbag. And of course don't leave home without a pop of leopard. Trés Chic.
Marc Jacobs Fall 2010 Look 40 silk velvet dress with bow detail; Christian Louboutin Big Lips 120 suede pumps Net-a-porter.com, Vogue September 2010, House of Lavande Napier Bow Pearl Necklace, Celine leather and leopard handbag

Jessica Alba made a style statement last week at LAX when she landed back in the states from Venice. We love her sheer blush top, especially since she accented her look with a House of Lavande vintage Trifari star necklace. She shows us perfectly that a subtle touch of glitz works perfectly for a casual day outfit.
